Developers David and Todd Slyman will break ground soon on a new 92-room hotel at the Village of Providence in Huntsville.

David Slyman confirmed construction will begin on a $15 million Hampton Inn located directly north of SpringHill Suites at the corner of Providence Main Street and Town Center Drive. If weather cooperates, the four-story facility should be complete in the third quarter of 2016.

Slyman said the new Hampton Inn “will be unlike any other in the nation.”

“The hotel was designed specifically with the historical urban architecture of the Village of Providence,” he said.

The western corner of the facility facing Providence Main will feature about 2,000 square feet of retail space, which is already leased. Slyman said the tenant will be revealed during the groundbreaking ceremony in about three weeks.

AL.com has contacted Kana Hotel Group CEO Alpesh Patel about the new Hampton Inn and will update this story when more information is available. Kana Hotel Group, founded in 2003, lists three other north Alabama hotels in its portfolio, including SpringHill Suites at Providence, Hilton Garden Inn on 301 Boulevard South in Huntsville, and Hampton Inn & Suites on 1222 Kelli Drive in Athens.

In April, the Village of Providence kicked off its Phase VIII expansion to create 52 custom homes at the Huntsville neighborhood development. The phase represents a $25 million investment.

The Slymans are also building the Village at Oakland Springs, a $250 million development at Huntsville Browns Ferry Road and Holladay Boulevard in Madison. The project will cover more than 150 acres and feature over 400 single-family homes, town houses, condos, apartments and a village retail center.
