It’s fitting that as we approach Labor Day, our city finds itself in several national conversations about our workforce. Earlier this week, Bloomberg Business published an incredible article about the cities leading the nation in careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Huntsville is the focus of the piece and is described by Bloomberg as having the third most technical workforce in the nation. That is a testament to the quality of our workers and the types of jobs we continue working to bring to our community. If you haven’t yet read the article, I encourage you to do so at this link. Just today we found Huntsville near the top of yet another national list praising our workforce; this time from SmartAsset.com. The site named Huntsville as the #2 City in the U.S. for Tech Jobs. You can read their article at this link. Both of these articles are the result of the quality of our workforce, our pioneering efforts with new tools for education, and a quality of life that is second to none. Congratulations on a job well done to you. I hope each of you has a happy Labor Day and hope most of you can take the day off. You’ve earned it.
